This is a collection of some videos from my experience over the past 30 years that
may be of interest to some.


BBW_SPECT.mpg		Circa 1983 marketing of the capability for 2D 2nd generation spectral
			wave modelling based on Young & Sobey's original model ex JCU in Townsville.
			The model was further developed by Blain Bremner and Williams (BBW) in
			Brisbane, where I also worked on it during 1983-85.
			SPECT was used for the design of the Half Tide Tug Harbour breakwater near
			Hay Point, which is the example shown in the video. Some shots also of the
			construction of the Townsville outer (sacrificial) breakwater.

North Rankin 'A'.ppt	Background information about the North Rankin 'A' (NRA) offshore oil and gas platform
			that is the site of the various tropical cyclone videos that follow.
			I was Chief Ocean Engineer with Woodside from 1985 to 1990.

			This documentary charts the construction of NRA and its dramatic transportation,
			launch and installation sequences.

TC Ilona 1988.mpg	Our first look at TC-generated waves offshore to compare with the NRA wave and wind
			instrumentation. Great illustration of the swell and sea interactions and a dramatic
			long shot highlighting the wave steepness (difficult to see from NRA's high elevation).

TC Orson 1989.mpg	Charts the before and after of the direct hit on NRA in APril 1989, measuring the
			MSLP of Orson as 905 hPa. Some facinating effects of the wind.

TC Tina 1990.mpg	A controversial large scale storm producing very large long-crested wave conditions
			that has now been officially recognised as a tropical cyclone.

			Construction of the onshore gas liquefaction plant on the Dampier Peninsula.

Woodside_ROWS.mpg	Describes the design and implementation of the innovative Remote Offshore Warning SYstem (ROWS)
			that has been in operation for over 20 years.
